A Branch Head (BH) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific branch of a company or financial institution. A Branch Head (BH) plays a crucial role in achieving the company's goals, maintaining a positive and efficient work environment, and fostering strong relationships with customers and the local community.
Job Details
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Zonal Head (ZH), the BH’s responsibilities generally include but are not limited to;
- Providing leadership and daily oversight for all activities (all products and services) in the Branch, being accountable for the leadership and management necessary to provide high quality, timely services to clients, and achieve the set key performance indicators and targets for the Branch under the annual work plan;
- Providing direct supervision to all officers in the Branch, establishing key assignment definitions based on the approved annual work plan, tracking performance and providing feedback through periodic performance discussions and the annual appraisal process;
- Ensuring 100% use and accuracy of the BPA for the origination of ALL transactions in the Branch, and ensuring accurate record keeping; approving or initiating registrations/reactivations, disbursements, savings withdrawals, closures, write-offs and expenditures in the Branch on the BPA;
- Driving the achievement of Branch targets for portfolio growth (volume and number) and quality across all the Centre’s different products on a daily basis; coordinating activities of branch staff in the field and in the office to this end;
- Performing first level review on all submitted loan applications to ensure credit risk is minimized, prior to disbursement; convening Branche Credit Committee meetings to review loan appraisals, and conducting guarantor interviews;
- Coordinating loan recovery drives to maintain high portfolio quality, in line with the Centre’s Code of Conduct and Debt Collection Practices;
- Ensuring that the Centre’s policies and procedures are adhered to on a daily basis in the Branch;
- Ensuring orderliness in the Branch office and that all assets (equipment and furnishing) are maintained in good condition, and taking responsibility for the tidiness, hygiene, and safety of the Branch;
- Identifying opportunities for expansion of the Centre’s business and portfolio, and reporting same to the Zonal Head for consideration at Programme Management;
- Creating and maintaining good relationships with agencies and community stakeholders where the Branch is located;
- Performing any other duties as mandated in the Field Operations Manual, by the Zonal Head, Programme Manager and Management.
